·      Developed custom scripted Log Shipping with automated database recovery, cutting Disaster Recovery time from 2-3 days to 2 hours for CMS SQL 2000 Financial System.

·      Significantly increased Financial Data Warehouse development efficiency by re-engineering test environment and data warehouse load procedures.

·      Administered, maintained and further developed 26 Gigabyte Financial Data Warehouse and 23 Stored Procedures with over 6000 lines of code. The Stored Procedures enforce business logic used to load and manipulate financial data for reports given to firm executives.

·      Developed automated ETL process that saves 1 to 2 weeks implementation time after every firm re-organization and practice area re-alignment over manual mailing list creation and membership placement.  Developed Transact SQL scripts that pull information directly from the HR system, deploy hundreds of business rules and generate all mailing list groups, group nesting and membership for the firms 2000+ mailing lists.

Responsibilities:

·         Design and develop Sybase System 11.5 and MS Access 97 database solutions for monthly reporting and compensation reporting needs.

Accomplishments:

·      Reduced month-end processing time by 400%, cutting the duration from 16 to 4 hours.  Converted MS Access 97 queries to Sybase transact-SQL Stored Procedures, optimized SQL code and ensured proper index utilization. 

·      Re-designed Sybase System 11.5 reporting database using Erwin. Used Erwin to forward and reverse engineer the database, design logical and physical data model.

·      Designed, developed, and maintained over 50 stored procedures for monthly data transformation process and report creation using Transact-SQL.

·      The stored procedures employed 300-400 business rules that were applied to a monthly raw data feed.  The procedure execution populated roughly 35 final result tables accessed by about 40 Cognos reports. The Chief Operating Officer, 250 senior executives, directors, managers, field execs and their employees use the reports.

·      Developed error checking and process logging to facilitate problem resolution and shorten development time when amending business logic.

·      Performed ETL migration from MS Access 97 data into Sybase tables.

(Berkery Noyes & Co. Investment Bank Client Management project)

·      Coded Visual Basic 6.0/5.0 and MS Access 97 Object Oriented Client Management system. The new system completely automates matching prospective buyers and sellers based on dynamic user input. $35,000 is saved annually by eliminating the manual search, and productivity increases are expected to generate $200,000 + annually in increased revenue.

·      Performed ETL migration and tested mission critical data using SQL queries and VBA code.

 

(MICROSOFT Office 2000 project and Web Site)

·      Created SQL Server 7.0 database, FrontPage 2000 web site, Access 2000 application and web site. The web sites provided dynamic SQL database updates through the Internet. Project results burned to CDs and used by Microsoft’s national sales/marketing staff for nationwide rollout of Microsoft’s Office 2000 technologies.

Responsibilities:

(Schroders Capital Management Client Billing Project)

·      Developed custom billing system in Visual Basic 5.0, Sybase System 11, and MS Access 97.

·      Wrote Stored Procedures to extract and manipulate critical financial data. Schroders clients had frequently refused to pay the full amount of their invoice because of unclear billing procedures. The new billing system details fee calculations directly on the client invoices. This leaves no question about fee generation, and saves over $75,000 per year globally in lost fees, and frees up multiple resources.

 

(Le Caisse General Ledger Interface Project)

·      Designed, programmed, and delivered data mapping system using Sybase's Power Designer, PowerBuilder 5.0, and Transact-SQL.

·      Designed system to accommodate over 750 data mapping rules with ongoing updates. The system dynamically generates Sybase stored procedures from user input, encapsulating all business logic. Because users change business logic from the GUI there are no code maintenance costs, saving $25,000-35,000 annually.

(Compass Group LLC Data Conversion Project)

·      Designed, programmed and delivered data conversion system in MS Access 97 that imports a text file, maps data, and creates a text output file. The tool saves Compass Group 520 labor-hours and $15,600 annually because the previous data conversion tool lacked sophisticated cancellation and correction mapping that had to be done manually.

·      Designed data conversion and verification system in MS Access 97; coded functions in VBA to dynamically create and execute SQL.  The system imports raw data files of 5 to 100 MB, validates data integrity against dynamically entered standards, and verifies cross-field data consistency. The application enabled Fidelity to convert and validate new corporate client data 50% faster than previously possible.
